Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway And Major Infrastructure Boosting Central Highlands Real Estate

The 117km Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway is set to open in 2027, alongside the Buon Ma Thuot master plan to 2050 and a planned airport upgrade to 4C standard — the largest infrastructure push the Central Highlands real estate market has ever seen.

The approximately 117km Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway, running along the east–west axis, is under construction and expected to open in 2027. Once complete, it will significantly cut travel time between Buon Ma Thuot and the South Central Coast provinces, opening a new economic and tourism corridor for the entire Central Highlands region.

In parallel, the Buon Ma Thuot master plan to 2050 prioritises public space and modern transport infrastructure, envisioning three expressways, national rail connections, and an upgrade of Buon Ma Thuot Airport to 4C standard.

At the provincial level, the Dak Lak Provincial Plan for 2021–2030 with a vision to 2050 identifies modernising technical infrastructure — particularly transport systems connecting within the province, inter-regionally, and internationally — as a core task in establishing Buon Ma Thuot as the central urban hub of the Central Highlands.

Transport infrastructure has always been a leading driver of real estate value. Experience from other markets shows that areas along or near new expressways and airports tend to see land prices rise faster than the broader market from the moment construction begins. In the Central Highlands, urban projects in central Buon Ma Thuot — where all these connective corridors converge — are well positioned to benefit earliest from this wave of infrastructure investment.
